Erm erm yep an led. Here goes:

earth > sensor
sensor > led > inline fuse 100mA > normal fuse under steering wheel.

I will try it out when the parts arrive from eBay I have ordered the following as it should be ok for the coolant at high temperature.

BMW NEW WATER COOLANT LEVEL SENSOR E 36 - E91 X3 X5 Z4 on eBay (end time 26-May-11 19:25:45 BST)

I will wire it without blip just to try it and then fit the timer and blip circuit later when I am happy the idea works.

As for the water temp I have I ordered one of these to see if it works and where I can locate it so it can be seen.

I have ordered the one with the two sensors, it looks ok from the downloaded instructions but as its from China I will wait to see if it works.

Could one of the sensors be attatched near the existing coolant temperature sensors or would it be better actualy in the coolant ?
The latter may be more of a a problem
