Hi Guys,

I've recently bought a Freelander 1 TD4 es 3 3 door version, registered 04'. I love the car, best car I've ever owned!

There have been a number a rattles which I've fixed by process of elimination and tightening a few screws but this one is killing me!

The metallic rattle under front driver side dash sounds like a loose washer, it only rattles at 1800-1900 revs in any gear. I've taken a few bits off to try and find the culprit to no avail.

I've looked under the steering wheel, nothing loose. The sound is coming from exactly where I can't access on the red circled bit of the dash.

Please, please, please if anyone has the slightest idea or suggestion can you help? Lol, like I said amazing car but this noise is driving me bananas.

Thanks,

Tim

p.s - I've taken it to two separate garages to have a look and they both said they haven't got a clue, lol. Rang the local landrover dealership and they said its £90 just to come and listen to the noise :(
