Freelander 2 (LR2) Message centre and fuel gauge not displaying

Hi folks, my wife left the key in overnight and now message centre (bottom centre of instrument panel) is completely blank and fuel gauge needle not moving despite half a tank of diesel. Battery was flat so local mechanic jump started. I can only find ref to fuses for the whole instrument panel so didn't think that an issue as rev counter and smaller message centre displaying mileage, gear selection etc) are working.

Anyone got a good idea as to the problem and how to rectify please? Thanks

What. Jump starting a modern vehicle is pretty much a no no. The electrical power spikes cause can sorts of damage.

Possibly fried electronics in the Ipack or BCM.

First port of call is to reboot the instrument pack with a hard battery reset - disconnect both battery leads and join the leads together and then wait 30 seconds and then reconnect

I had the same issue and I can confirm that this reset worked

I think they might have sorted it by now - it was 5 years ago
