I do like it that the kids get excited, but when I was a kid, Christmas was not much fun with a manically depressive mum who would (on regular occasions) try and kill herself and my dad looking after her at the local mental health hospital.....such heady days of joy and yuletide festivities......birthdays were much the same!
So while I put on a brave face for the kids (as it is for them really) - to all others its a case of, lets get this crap over and done with so I can go back to normal...

Grand daughters birthday is 6th Dec. She managed a pair of diamond ear studs for her birthday. God knows what she is getting for Christmas.
