I think I saw on the forum someone saying that the centre part of the Mark 1 Freelander Grill can be removed. Is this correct and if so what is the easiest way to remove it.
Cheers

Anything is possible with the right tools. Angle grinders come in handy for stuff like this :)

Actually, I don't know - when ever I've take the 'front end' off it always been a single piece of that grill and bumper. Whether they can be separated (without cutting them apart) I don't know, but I suspect not.

Would also be useful to know if its pre or post facelift as they're front ends are quite different. Also whether its the thick bits above the bumper or the mesh bit below.

The centre bars are a different plastic, so they can be removed. From memory, they are clipped and melted together.

Thanks for that. So I presume the Bumper has to be removed first. The reason I"m asking is that in the next week or so I will be replacing my Bumper with a Facelift one and a friend of mine is having my original Bumper to replace his broken one and he wants ro replace that central bar with Mesh Wiring.

It's got to come off anyway, so yes it's possible. ;)
