Manufacturers Servicing Requirements?

A dealer would have given me one answer i.e. his opinion.

No he wouldn't, he would have given you Landrovers official service schedule unless he was either a shady or crap dealer. Being your Pappy, you're in the best position to know exactly what kind of dealer he is/works for.

Yes, that's what I thought.

My old man's a Land Rover dealer, so stamping isn't a problem! Only problem is he's in the Isle of Man and I'm in Cheltenham!

Think I'll get it properly serviced here and go from there...

It's more about the invoice than the stamp

warranty companies aren't stupid, they know all the tricks and know anyone can stamp your book.

We deal with a few of them and they all ask for the service invoices and they need to be at the correct intervals even if you are claiming for something completely unrelated like a wiper motor, if the history isn't what it should be then they wont have it.

I'm 100% certain they will not accept home servicing even if you followed the LR service sheet, you will have to take it to a VAT registered garage that can service it to LR spec at the proper interval.

Whether independent or dealer will not matter.

hope this helps

its funny you should post that because one of our customers who came into us the other day with a knocking noise. It turned out to be a broken road spring but he couldn't get paid out because he drove it to the garage rather than get it towed there.

The AA repair cover is only activated if you call out the AA patrol for a breakdown.
