Hey guys,
My Freelander needs a gearbox oil change. It's done 175.000km and has probably never had it changed so I figured Id do it and get it over with. Same with the IRD and diff.

I live in Spain and sourcing the MTF94 it asks for is near impossible. Is there another oil I could use? A general 75w80 MTF spec or anything else?

Thanks!

For the MTF94, go to the main dealer, they should have it, it comes in 5 Litter.

Also undo first the filler plug before the drain plug.

For the rear diff, there is no drain plug, simply use a sringe to remove old oil and put new one in.

A lot of companies now make the mtf94.
Comma oils is probably the easiest to source.
If you don't have an LR stealership nearby, Honda also used mtf94.
The difference in the 94 and regular mtf is additives used to prevent damage to the copper synchro meshes in the gearbox
