Folks,
There is an unused switch on my Puma 110 xs, one of the three switches to the left of the hazard lights switch, which I'd like to make use of for a front end parking sensor. Any thoughts on how this can be done ? I need a simple on/off switch here.
Thanks in advance
If you need a simple on/off switch, then the cheapest and easiest one to use is the Defender TDCi Heated Seat Switch
YUF500150LNF -
It's under a fiver, with VAT
and, unlike some of the other switches of this type, it's designed to switch a live (+) - most of the other switches either switch the earth, or are momentary, i.e. non-latching switches.

You will probably have to pare-off the moulded keyway on the switch's body (the two moulded lines at the rear of the body in the above picture).
These are only there so that the switches will only fit into the facia positions that Land Rover want them to fit into (helps on the production line).
As there's no suitable switch cap (front) for parking sensors, you can swap the switch front with the one from your switch blank.
I've done this on some switches and drilled a 2.5mm hole in the blank cap so that the orange LED can still be used, like this (bad pictures

If you're feeling creative, you can scribe your own symbol onto the blank switch cap.
They're made from white translucent plastic and painted with the appropriate symbol masked out, so that when illuminated from behind, the symbol lights-up, see this -
