The 2/3/4th July 2004 sees the second National Mahindra Register Rally at
the Wagtail 4x4 Centre near Halford in Warwickshire. This venue and event is
a closed event for Mahindra vehicles only, but anyone is more than welcome
to turn up, watch and talk 4x4 and off roading with the Mahindra Register
members. 4x4 magazine will be covering the event for inclusion in a future
edition of the magazine. The venue is a purpose built off road site of
around 50 acres set on farmland in South Warwickshire. Camping, caravanning,
catering and toilet facilities are available as is plenty of visitor car
parking spaces. Admission is free to non Mahindra owners and spectators who
turn up for the day.
Full details of the Rally, directions and pass charges are available at:

http://www.mahindra-register.org.

This year we are expecting the largest gathering of these vehicles ever
assembled in the UK

grass :)

That's right, just as you are allowed to take and use off road your LR to
the Suzuki Rally, or a Jeepfest.....Of course, any 4x4 is allowed to
participate in the LRO off road show aren't they?

Just in case you are not able to read more than a couple of lines, it's the
Mahindra Register National Rally, not a 4x4 fun day.

Yes. I would too. Land Rovers are well know for getting stuck on the grass
:O)

Probably for the same reason there are closed to club Land Rover meetings,
or Jeep meetings etc ..

Not unless you are one yourself!

What has really amazed me is the number of "experts" that frequent these
newsgroups. All the posters have, or so it would seem by their in depth
knowledge on how "crap" Mahindras are, been past owners. It would appear
that comparisons between what is effectively a 1950's designed car with a
1970's designed engine, are being made with the latest eurocrap or Japanese
4x4's. which baulk at the slightest sign of a puddle. If comparisons are
being made with a LR series or a SJ, well I've owned a 1972 SIII diesel and
a 1984 SJ, which were both slow, noisy, uncomfortable, wandered all over the
road, brakes - eventually and has all the creature comforts of a cow shed.
Off road, they were great, but there again, a Mahindra is certainly their
equal - we are talking bog standard here with MT tyres.

Do Landies and SJs get slated? Well not very often. They each have their
place and their followers. Lighten up people. To each their own. If you
don't like Mahindras then fine, but don't slag something off that you have
no personal experience of.

Who cares, everyone to his own.

Only reason I commented was surprise at the expletive due to some harmless
leg pulling.

Which did not come from me, but the harmless leg pulling comment in question
was so stupid that I have to agree with the retort.

If normal means that a simple four word phrase cannot be understood, then
I'm glad I'm not normal :O)
