Maf sensor position on a td4 ?

You have to remove the air filter cover, as you look from the front, you will see the maf on the left roughly behind the oil filler cap.

You will also need the security male torx tool, the one with the hole in the centre.

I believe it's an odd size as well either 6 or 5 sided whichever is the one not normally used. I used a good set of molegrips and managed to grip the screw heads to loosen them. I have used self rappers to put it back.

Cheers guys

I unplugged it and went for a drive tonight and the FL drove better, felt quicker, so i can assume my maf is slowly failing. Time to start saving for the synergy i think, do i need to buy the replacment maf from roveron or leave the orginal in and let the maf compensator do its job, i have read about them but i am no mechanic and dont fully undertsand the pros and cons about changing the maf ?

thanks :mil50:

Just bought a set of the 5 sided security torx off ebay @ £17 as I suspect my MAF is on the way out.

If your maf is knackered i.e. car undriveable then you'll need a new one. If it's just drifted a bit out of spec then the compensator will do.
