Morning,

The owner of the Garage and Head Mechanic that I take my pride and joy to for all its work made me an offer of £9.995.00

Since I brought mine for 97 300tdi 90 for £6000 with 90k on the clock (now 125k) was I a fool in turning him down ?

Thoughts please

Depends if you need the money or want to keep your Landy. Can you buy the equivalent motor for less than the offer price? If not keep what you have.

The car also has sentimental value to it, being the main reason I said its not for sale,

On the plus side, At least I know he's interested in it, and i'm hoping he goes that little further with it then he does with most cars (To be fair, he's damn good at what he does anyway)

Good to hear peoples thoughts on it !

I would have bit his hand of and his foot, arm and other hand before he had the chance to re-think! although after that a car maybe useless to him! that's good profit and you could just go buy another one in nice condition if it don't have any sentimental value

This happened with my 1st 90, I paid 3.5k had it 12 month, council wagon hit it they paid out 1.5k in a cheque told me to fix it my self, cost me £8 in parts and then someone offered 5k for it so I said yes and then bought another ( same age better more toys winch ect better chassis) for 3k

As far as I'm aware it's original, I will go though all paper work to make sure,

The sentimental value comes from a sad story, my step father (I should note that he has been in the family since I was 4)owned the land rover for many years under his business, after he passed 3 years ago the company which he built muted selling it, knowing how much work he put into it (exactly how much I'm not sure)

that being the reason I probably won't sell the "old" girl unless something serious happens
