It’s a job to know what to do… on one hand I get that they can be a pain if you need to access the spare etc but on the other, they do stop the boot getting snotted up.

I need to have options really. I don’t always want to have the dog transit box in the back but I do need to put the dogs in the back, so a hard plastic mat and normal dog crate will suffice there… the larger transit box for longer trips or when working as the thing can be hosed out later.

I am planning to get a storage draw - booze & guns - but not until later in the year and again, it’s not the sort of thing that I think you’d want in there all the time (for one thing, the champagne would probably ruin)

I’m guessing the moment you have guns, dogs, booze and luggage in the boot, that’s the moment you’ll need the spare tyre…

I must admit I was doing quite a bit off messing in the boot fitting the second battery otherwise it would have just stayed there and not been a problem. Also as it had the thick rubber mat on top of it it made it more of a pain. Being hard plastic I think things may slide around a bit unless it's tied down. As you say it's easy to just wipe down so may be perfect for your needs, the only muddy things I put in the boot are a couple of pairs of walking boots.

I’ve ordered the luggage pocket nets for the boot and will be adding a dog guard & boot liner. I did do a deal on a gun I sold and ended up with a TransK9 double dog crate for an L322 for the last £100 of the gun…

I don’t want it in the vehicle all the time as I need the boot to be covered for when I’m moving firearms.
Tinting the rear doors & boot windows is the major thing I need to do.

Having driven it and taken it to Tesco, it’s all there… the power at the bottom is unbelievable and you have to check to see what speed you’re actually doing… it gets to 50+ very quietly & quickly!

There is more road noise than I’d expected but that may be the tyres or the fact I’m use to a sporty Mercedes!

Little, minor draw to the left under braking - balancing maybe?

It is like driving a Chesterfield… :D

hi mate

plus 1 with regards to the plastic liners , as u say items slide around , ended up getting an off cut of black carpet off eBay which stops it , then easy to remove , shake off and put back, plus found it really handy getting one of those boot bags for small items

Good to use as a template for cutting out the carpet!
We just use the mat in our Disco, being a pukka Landy one it does fit perfectly and is tough when doing things like loading a cubic metre of logs etc. Easy to clean but yes prone to things sliding around.
Shame it doesn't have a pull over blind to hide the guns.:( Thought Rangies had a kind of fold over tray.:confused:

indeed ref the template , luckily I also got one of those boot slide out trays that have the tie down fittings , I intended to fit it but seeing I’m planning to sell my D3 in the near future won’t bother considering the price there now fetching , many asking for £400- 500 for them , madness

yes I think it’s a 2 x part folding Parcel Shelf Load Cover for the L322, alas don’t know what the current regs are , assume though a lockable cabinet would be required to transport guns in the boot, in my old series I bolted a gun cabinet to the floor when I carried my shotguns
