Sat on a rebuilt lt230 1:12 the brakes are up to the task
I’ve fitted anti roll bars and new props
I’ll deal with the diffs if they fail but I think they should be up to the job.
I’m not planning any off road work
A muddy field will be the worst it has to deal with

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower.

It'll be one very, very black line, with an LT230

All the power turns to smoke at the inside front wheel when accelerating on corners

My Disco wears the front left twice as fast as all the other tyres, from lighting up when trying to pull out of side roads. 3 open diffs feeds all the power to the wheel with the least traction, unfortunately.

No viscous coupling or traction control on the Disco?

I guess limited slip diffs front and rear would help. Not sure how you'd manage the centre diff.
