I thought it was Stephen Fry?poached .
The only way I would be in his company is with an ashtray down the back of my pants.I thought it was Stephen Fry?
No nanocom yet, maybe Xmas present - long way away Or if I get that win...
Yes I have fiddled with temp sensors recently (earlier posts on this thread). Took blue out cleaned and replaced, changed green for new one (Lucas) - Old one had connector turning round and round. Also have new brown sensor spare ordered by mistake if you ever need one.
Disconnect green and try running again?
Hate to scaremonger mate, but a "tappet' noise was the start of my rebuild.Beyond my barbie too,
I am panicking that the tappet noise is actually water entering cylinder, one would explain alot but not noticed any pressure in system. Without a nanocom current method is keep driving see if it breaks and prepare creditcard
Time to flush the head with either ATF or white derv, and drop engine oil again. Needs doing and may help my stress factor

No tappets on a diesel.. (I sound like @wammers now..)You can get UV dye that goes in the water and a UV torch. If anything is getting in the oil it will show up on the dip-stick. Tappet or sticky injector? Any smoke? I'm a bit cautious about flushing agents since I used some in an old Astra engine and it scrubbed all the debris off the seals and smoked forever more. Prefer regular oil changes (5k miles).
How about recording the noise and see if @wammers has an idea? What he doesn't know about the oil burner isn't worth knowing.
