Hi all, new member so please bear with me...
I've got an M reg disco that appears to have been previously unloved.
Dolly has already had her head gasket done about 5 months ago and since had a problem with overheating twice.
In the first instance, all the coolant pipes (I presume) were taken off and flushed through with a hose, thermostat removed and then ran perfectly.
Til now...same thing happening again but been advised it's anything from a cracked block to a blocked rad..
I'm reluctant to drive to a garage due to overheating, I don't want to cause more damage and don't appear to be able to get any local help to come to us.
I'm thinking due to the rusty water and rust particles I've seen in the tank and coming out the top of the rad, the rad may well be blocked. I can't find any diagrams or instructions that pertain to that model (like an idiots guide to draining a rad) that have helped.
landy experts, what should I do first and how?
Grateful for any help or advice but please do bear in mind I am a mere bird and won't know any big words or technical terms lol!
Tia x

I'd check the coolant system has been properly bled first. They're a bit known for air traps.

You need to keep letting air out of the stat bleed valve and topping up the expansion tank iirc with the engine running(not when coolant is hot)

Lifting the tank or parking on a steep slope helps.

Check the rad for cold spots if you suspect a block

This is a bit more involved than you need but shows the process.

Most people replace the plastic bleed valve with a brass household radiator plug with a small bleed screw in the centre as it's the same thread as in the housing and doesn't chew up every time you use it.
