LZ Rescue... Help!

My P38 has died - I think it's the lift pump, doesn't seem to be much, if any fuel getting through. It dies whilst driving along, and will eventually start again after about 30s of cranking, run for a few seconds, then die again. No clouds of white smoke out the exhaust when it fires up, suggesting no fuel getting through..?

It's not hugely urgent, as I managed to scrounge a lift home and my Disco is still (just) driveable. But I could do with a hand towing it home sometime today, if anyone is in the area (nr Chippenham, Wilts)?
 
Update - following some advice on here (awesome, as always :)) I'm going to try putting more fuel in the tank and see if there's enough in the lift pump to get it running and drive it home for repair...

In contact with mhm via text atm...
 
Nice one Ratty, cheers! Just putting a seat back in the Disco so I can drive it, go back to the P38 with a jerry can and top up the tank a bit, see if she runs...
 
On p38 the tank does not have a fuel pump inspection hatch, don't go mad and fill it up as the tank needs dropping to change pump, unless you cut the floor

It's not the biscuits - its all the other bloody vehicles :(.

I must have 2 spare discos in bits spread around Basingstoke, let alone the running cars :eek:
 
UPDATE: Put 10L of diesel in the tank and it fired up and ran... About to drive it home now, but it seems ok...

Also... Not so sure it's the pump anymore... I filled the tank and it took 81 litres... Unless I have a magic expanded tank, or a secret compartment for extra fuel somewhere, it seems that my level sender is duff... And I just ran out of fuel!!! :mad:
