Can't find a reference to any minimum speed on M-ways but seem to remember from the old, old highway code that there is a minimum size engine for bikes (125cc) and a minimum capability to do a certain speed (think it was 50mph).

But as stated before, wagons are restricted to 56mph so 53mph should not get you done.
 
Lorries atre not restricted to 56.

It is 60 mph on motorways I think ....

Speed limiters seem to be set to about 56.

But maybe I am all out of date.

yup, yer out o date arthur negus, all lorries are restricited to 56mph. the smallest cc motorbike allowed on motorways is 50cc. mopeds are actually 49cc so they are not allowed. there has never been a minimum speed limit on motorways, nor can there be otherwise everyone on the m25 would have a ticket
 
There was a story in the papers recently about a women who was'nt "confident" and she got clocked driving at 10mph.She got done for inconsiderate driving.Couldnt find the story tho
 
minmum speed on the m/ways is 40mph, mate of mine got done for doin 35mph goin up Shap on the M6 in a 1300 beetle
 
There is NO minimum speed limit on the motorway although if you are driving very slowly and obviously causing a problem you can get done for dangerous driving or even obstructing a highway (arrestable!). There are minimum vehicle specifications for a motorway, such as 50cc scooter, but no minimum speed limit!

Prohibited vehicles. Motorways MUST NOT be used by pedestrians, holders of provisional motorcycle or car licences, riders of motorcycles under 50 cc, cyclists, horse riders, certain slow-moving vehicles and those carrying oversized loads (except by special permission), agricultural vehicles, and powered wheelchairs/powered mobility scooters (see Rules 36-46 incl).

Can't find anything about a minimum speed limit in the latest version, although it used to say 30 in 1976!
