Best get my arse in gear with caravan

Can't wait!!

I even think SWMBO might be getting a tad excited for her 'adopted' 40th birthday venue.

Now just pondering what to do to sort out the pathetic remote controlled freelanders me and the boy have that are bunk on grass!!

Gravel/mud site entrance road leading to the rally field or the mud/dirt tracks in the woods should provide hours of fun :D

Iam all booked and have had the old caravan out and tested.
I hope I haven't stood on anyone's feet but I have emailed the site regarding location of electric points for my caravan.

Are you on the caravan site or on the event field with the majority of us? if on the site they have hookup. if ya on the field. Then you'll need a genny of some sort.

While the Ruston engine is running we will have limited 240V power available, but it won't run all the time and not after 5pm. We also have a small inverter for small 240V items, camera battery charger etc.

The trailer is self-sufficient for power, we have four solar panels on the roof and dual 12V systems inside. Fridge, cooker, water heater and warm air are on gas but need 12V for lighting and controls. TV and satellite receiver are 12V also. Winch has its own battery.

We have to be independent of 240V as most sites we go to have no facilities at all.

Peter

Lecky hoop-ups are available for an extra tenner but it means pitching up on the caravan site next door to the venue field and pitches need to be booked through the caravan site link on the 'tickets' thread. Make sure you say you're attending the LZ meet.

Couple of things ...

The Landy Zone 10th Anniversary Weekend is now listed here - 4x4 Calendar . co . uk (has been for few weeks now but forgot to mention it)

and

I have a white 8m x 4m pop-up marquee sitting in my garage that is available over the course of the event. Cost? A big fat zero. I live in Bedworth near Coventry, so if somebody can collect and return it, you're more than welcome to use it. Size-wise it will happily fit into a Landy or RR.

Alternatively, I have a second 8m x 4m pop-up marquee over in Ross-on-Wye that can also be acquired ... or both marquees!!! Placed together, this would make it a 8m x 8m marquee, although unless something is done to prevent it, you could have a continuous waterfall in the middle where they join! :D

Then again, it isn't an issue as it's not going to rain - IS IT?!!!

Anyway, offer's there if you needed one or both of 'em. May not pick up a PM so email me via the LandyLive! website (Home - LandyLive) if interested, I shall pick up an email instantly.

A quick edit: Thinking of marquees, I also have an industrial gas heater (the blower type that looks like a jet engine) I bought specifically for heating marquees. This is also available from Bedworth if required as Spring nights can be pretty nippy!

That's brill But I'm fairly sure that there is an event marquee provided by the organisers & there's also a beer tent. Which I'm predicting will end up housing most people for most of the time. though it can't house all of the people all of the time. :D

I think the heater would be a great idea ;)

for some reason the e-mail replies are a bit hit and miss at the mo- am going down to the site in person tomorrow to speak about some of the other details ,so will find out exactly and let you know :)

Just got back from the site. For those of you who wish to have an electric hook up, you need to purchase your LZ ticket as normal, then ring the site and tell them you're with the landy group and you can then camp on the campsite itself ( which is right next to the rally field ). The cost of stopping on the campsite itself is at a reduced rate of ten pounds per unit...per night.
So if youre stopping Fri, Sat and Sunday night...it'd be £20 for the ticket and then £30 for the leccie hook up .

Hope that clarifies things :)

Thank you 110 - still not sure which way to go .... Could you pop back and measure how big a lead I would need from hook up to event field?!!!?!?,

Toooooo long ...tis a big field :D

If it helps. ...There is no one else from the bash stopping on the site at present ( apart from our glampers in the pod )....they're all in the rally field .
