had magnacore for 3 years now, and with them coming off and on with the constant f in work recently thay are still intact and have never let me down. Expensive but well made, far superior to the standard crap. PS its a lot quicker to unbolt the coils then fit than trying to rub the rear of your hand off on the bulkhead

seriously though chaps; Willos, I do appreciate your feedback on the ubiquitous Magnecor but hasn't anyone used Lumenition?

I am about to fit lumintion ignition to my 72 RRC but I was also wondering about which leads , as would think lumi and lumi would go best together.
Magnecore seem far to expensisive, but genuine LR arnt cheap either!!

magnacore is the way.especially if you run gas.clip the wires well and avoid cross overs....

well for me , regarding the leads first , the aftermarket buget ones seem ****e, I had arcing on my 3.9 with bosch,mirrortech and lucas so it has to be genuine(which it now is) or better.
For my 72 3.5 I could buy another set of genuine for between £30 and £60 depeding on where from but they are only designed to last 2 years and carry no warrenty worth having and people have had some dodgy sets through form new as british oem parts are well know for being ****e, or I could get some magnecore for £70 direct and they come with a 10 year warrenty
I think it will be the magnecore this time
Oh and rgearding air filters I have just bought some coopers ones for the 72 but looking at the size of each carb and the size of the single air inlet into the airbox that must restrict performance as does it sucking hot air in form the engine comparment (I know K&N would do that too)
I am thinking of rigging up some cold air induction to match my full stailess tubular headers and exhaust when that goes on!

I changed from OEM to Magnecor (blue) leads a year ago - great improvement in both power and fuel consumption. Well worth the money and allegedly one of the best ways to prepare an engine for an LPG installation. I'm really happy with mine and hopefully, once I finally get around to advertising my Rangie, the new owner will be very pleased with them too, and all the other expensive add-ons!!!!!

Ok going for Magnecor as the Lumenition people in London have an answerphone on, they don't pick up, don't return calls and don't reply to emails.
Quick question: I've a '97 4.0 V8 Gems engine - I'm finding two product codes for 8mm Magnecor leads: 80142 and 80242. Anyone know which is correct?
