Hi I'm putting a lt230 disco transfer box into my defender. Do I have to change the speedo housing? My speedo cable on my defender won't fit into the speedo housing on the disco lt230 box. Any help would be great full thanks.

if they are both 300tdi or before then yes ,you may need to drill 2 holes for hand brake bracket if pre 300tdi as disco and def are in different location ,and you may need to swap speedo drive if yours is cable and donor box was from a 300tdi as they use a transducer and speedo drive has smaller drive square(black speedo drive ),housing should prise out and you can then just swap the drives

in which case its just the speedo drive needing swapping ,disco been transducer defender cable

Is it just a matter of prying it out with a screwdriver? I've the disco transfer box on the defender so don't know how awkward it's gonna be lol.

should pry out ,though some seize in and require the whole housing removing to get to back of the speedo drive
