Getting one with that capacity would be great but I just don't have any room for a floor standing one.

One thing that I find very odd is that these come with a fusible link to automatically close the lid if a fire starts, but then the instructions say not to use flammable solvents - think it's just legal arse covering tbh.

thats fair enough i was surprised how large it was so its in the shed at mo rather than my workshop as i didnt have room.

They are good need a decent de-greasent lo i used one that dilutes and it worked well

I'm using paraffin, amazed at how well it cleans!

Only problem I have is the flow rate is slightly too high so it's splashing a bit - will see if I can adjust it somehow.

Liking the parts wash they are worth their money for sure.
The day u get a press Ul never look back makes everything so easy I had to shim my input gear about 3-4 times to get it spot on and I'd have been ****ed if I was hammering it out didn't mind as it was couple of pumps in the press and job done and no damage atall :) the center diff bearings went on with a couple of pumps too soo easy worth every penny

Anyone know which sealants I should use to put the 380 back together?

Found this info online:

Manual Gearbox - R380
Gear selector housing - STC 50550
Selector housing bolts - STC 50552
Input shaft oil seal housing - STC 50550
Input shaft oil seal housing bolts - STC 50552
Reverse inhibitor shaft threads - STC 50552
Gate plate bolts - STC 50552
Gear case to extension housing - STC 4404
Extension housing bolts - STC 50552
Gear change lever yoke Allen screw - STC 50552
Gear case to centre plate - STC 4404
Detent plugs - STC 50552
Bias spring adjustment plate bolts - STC 50552

STC50550: Loctite 5900
STC50552: Loctite 243
STC4404: Hylomar 607 (Oxime curing RTV silicone sealant adhesive)

I've got some Loctite 5922 flange sealant, presumably I can use that in place of the 5900? It's rated to 200C and doesn't set hard so won't clog anything ig it comes loose inside.

Surely I can just use any instant gasket type sealant instead of the Hylomar 607, I've got some already and it'd save me a tenner - don't want to goose the rebuild for the sake of ten quid though!

rtv silicone sealant cartridge will do all as long as oil/heat resistant, loctite thread lock for out side of input seal nothing for output seals and also grub screws for selectors, silicone will also do well on detent adjuster grub screws which you wind in till shaft locks and then back till shaft operates freely

Just double checking the replacement bearings I got from Ashcrofts, and noticed that front layshaft bearing doesn't have the spring retainer fitted like the old one??

Do I need to worry?

Thought I'd see what a full bling bell housing would look like...

Only the quarter showing is done.... LOTS of nooks and crannies!

spring ring missing wont hurt ,it can sometimes effect shimming but not the bearing itself, though outer race benefits with some loctite to stop it spinning
