To be fair yer comparing a vehicle designed 10 years after the first. If you were to compare a FL2 then road noise would be quite different.

Yes, pic from last summers drought Col. Very perceptive.
When I tried driving up it in my disco last year I was catching the underneath. The stream even at it’s highest is no issues. Even for a Freelander!
There’s a ledge of bedrock on the right hand side of the gate.
And the soil in front of it is VERY soft so instantly sink down.

Personally didn’t find that , test driven 3 x FL2 that’s friends own and found the D3 a nicer all round vehicle
One of Biggest differences I found was the better ride quality / on road manners of the D3
But that’s just a personal choice

I guess yer desire of grandure was solved by buying a second hand range rover. Something the orange peeps of Essex are known to do. As well as spraying themselves orange.That's because it's expected on the entry level vehicle. The doors fall off, so I am led to believe

I was following a brand new disco along the M25 yesterday, I thought my sun glasses were distorting my vision so I took em off but no, it looked like the Harry Potter night bus when it squeezed between those other two buses. Are they all like that now or was this some special vision of hell.
