If you have a car registered before Jan 2001

'Don't replace it. Stick with it, then have it LPG converted with the money you were going to spend on its replacement. You'll then be in the enviable position of paying HALF the Road Tax others are paying for the same size (but newer) car, and HALF of their fuel costs.'

Hi Im running a 2004 vogue and its £15 cheaper on road tax.. If you've not picked your LPG installer i can recommend a great one £1300 all in for a stag 2 system and fantastic warranty..

I'm sure that if you notify the dvla they will let you know if you are eligable for a reduced road tax rate.

If you are (which I'm sure you are) you have to send the V5c off to them stating the vehicle is now a duel fuel engine (maybe copy of installation certificate as proof) you will then get £10 off your normal road tax fee ...... I know it's not much but thats all they give!

Also notify your insurance, as the car is now modified, if you don't they will refuse any claims in the future

When i first got mine 51 plate 4.6 i saw the tax disc was full price and rang the dvla to ask if this was right and they said i needed to inform them of the change to get the log book altered and then i would receive a discount for having a dual fuel motor, the grand sum of £10 cheaper. Couldnt be arsed.
