3). What is it that puts you off electric? I wouldn’t want a full EV, but I thought a few local miles in electric might be ok.
The only thing that puts me off is the cost of replacing the batteries. A plug in hybrid would be ideal for my 16 mile commute as we have plenty of charging bays available at work and reduced car park charges but the thought of the cost and if they will even be available in say 5 years time is a risk I don't need.

Plenty of discussions on various websites about battery life. Not noticed many peeps on here with electric vehicles, so you might be better off just googling it . . . . . .and tell us what you find so we can be scarcastic about it !!

One of my neighbours has a ten year old Tesla and the battery is still OK. Seems to be hokding up better than expected but she only trickle charges and regularly at that as she has it hooked up to her solar panels. Caveat as sample size of one and all that.

I'd guess a hybrid always has the battery in an optimal charge state, assuming you don't fast-charge it. Didn't lots of councils give out grants for their taxi-drivers to get Priuses? The state of those would probably tell a story.

My next door neighbour has had a Tesla Model 3 for a couple of years. Never seen it plugged in, and they def don't have any outside charging point, so no idea where they charge it or how often !!

No point in asking them because I cannot understand Ghana language.

No such thing as "Ghana" language, when I lived there there were 6 local languages, pigin English was the only common tongue ;)

Fast charging all the time is supposed to shorten battery life considerably but maybe they work for the council. Councils tended to give themselves free charging points years ago.

The only phevs I see are annoyingly doing ~25 mph to keep it on the battery power as long as possible (not long).
Do all phevs auto-switch from EV to ICE above 25mph?

The older Outlander switches to ICE if you switch too many things on or go too fast but the later 2.4 engine version can run full electric at higher speeds.
