Morning Peopes,
We need to replace the lower suspension arm on the N/Side, the other side will doubtless need replacing soon, the way I see it is that it is better to replace BOTH upper and lower on BOTH sides at the same time. My reasoning being that it is a lot of work just to replace the ball joint(s) and that by the time you have set everything up to do the one side it is good practice to do both sides and furthermore it is such a pain in the arse to do the job we might as well do the whole set. Has anyone selse replaced theirs? Our local garage have given an eye watering quote saying how difficult a job it can be, espeially on older RR's like ours which is a 2006 3.0 tdi Vogue. I will need to buy some better axle stands and a seperator but that seems about it, except for obviously spraying the joints and all connections to death with WD40...the job itself doesn't seem TOO difficult, but it is one thing watching someone with a ramp and full toolkit on you tube and another doing it yourself without a ramp etc although I do have a relatively comprensive tool kit, any help MUCH appreciated. For once the parts are fully interchangeble across the entire range from 2002-2009 so there won't be a fitting issue.
