Series 3 Lower steering arms

I'm just rebuilding the front axle on my series and I am wondering how you can tell if the steering arms are FUBAR. The lube in the swivels seemed to consist of equal parts sand,salt water and hope. The swivel bearings were in a shocking state and there was rust on everything inside. Having now cleaned the arms up the pins on both don't have the copper coating on I see on the ones I've seen online. I can see the remains of the copper coating inside the top of the pin. Will they need replacing?

How tight are they on the replacement bearings?

I've not tried them yet. Too busy painting them pretending they are ok

If they're tight, they're right.

The bearings just drop straight on. Should they have a bit of resistance when fitted. The photo shows what I was dealing with, both sides similar. I'll add a pic of the scrap that came out of the 2 swivels as well. The bearing you can see is as it came out I cleaned the other one and it fell apart but that roller cage is clean!
