low revs no power

It seems when i set off in the landrover there is no bottom end power. The revs take ages to build. Once i am moving they pick up and pulls fine just the low down revs. I havnt had the landrover long, but i tow trailers alot and i no they should be good at this. The other week i had to stop on a hill and to get going with about 2ton behind me i had to dip clutch a couple of times and floor the revs, but as soon as i released the clutch the revs died straight off to nothing. So i had no other option but to stick it into low box.

What vehicle? Petrol or diesel?

Probably not a petrol 300tdi

you need to check all turbo/air pipes for splits on pressure side or sucking in on filter to turbo side ,check for air in fuel system ,a clear plastic pipe is very good left in between filter and front banjo bolt on injection pump ,problems can come from tank sender under carpet in boot floor ,sedimentor bolted to chassis inner side near drivers rear wheel ,often best bypassed,or lift pump ,are you getting much smoke ?is timing on pump retarded a little ,good service recently including tappets etc
