Recently I have noticed a lack of torque, it struggled with steep hills and slow pulling away, motorway speeds were fine, no smoke or ECU lights.
I had a look around the engine bay for anything obvious, I removed the injector cover so I could check the turbo vacuum pipe, when I touched the pipe the cloth weave started to fall away as it was rotten, I then disconnect the pipe from the vacuum chamber end and sucked on it to check for holes/splits, it held the vaccum so no issues there, I then noticed that the pipe had gone very soft where it routes under the intake pipe and when I sucked on the pipe this area collapsed resulting in limited or no vacuum hitting the turbo solenoid.
I bought 3m of 4mm silicone from ebay for £12 and replaced all the rubber vacuum pipes, whilst doing this the soleniod came away from it's mount so I relocated it.
The new pipes have transformed the performance and it now pulls like a train, I've also noticed the pipe coming out of my Alisport Intercooler is warm whereas before it was cold which shows the turbo is creating a lot more boost.
If you haven't changed your vacuum pipes then for the sake of £12 and 30 mins easy work I recommend you do as they will fail at some point.

Is it 4mm interior diameter? And does the pipe need to have any kind of heat resistance?
