I spent a lot of time looking at diesel LPG systems a few years ago. Unfortunately it seems to be a dark art and I only found a handful of people I was happy with to actually do the install.
There's two different types of LPG systems to consider on diesels, although you could just go very basic and fit a mixer plate.
I was looking towards a sequential Europgas system for my Mondeo. They have a system fully designed for common rail diesels. The system incorporates a knock sensor, EGT sensor and a fuel pressure emulator over other systems. The LPG ECU monitors engine load, temperatures, knock etc, reduces the amount of diesel injected by reducing the fuel pressure and substitutes it with LPG upto a 50% ratio. This kind of system is bullet proof and will only help your engine long term as it will be burning much cleaner.
Other systems just use basic sensors and a basic map to add fuel. Most are single point systems. Work fine but only allow LPG in small quantities. They offer no extra protection other than coolant temperature monitoring. Advantages are you will get extra performance. Not just because you have extra fuel in the cylinder but because you will be getting a much cleaner burn from the diesel. You will also get a small decrease in running costs and a quieter engine.
