lost locking wheel nut

hi, i have lost my locking wheel nut, does anyone know of anyway to remove them or where i could get a replacement?

If they are land rover lock nuts a dealer will have the corresponding nut key you just need the correct letter which is stamped on the key usually about a tenner
 
you need a irwin socket , has a reverse thread teeth like inside the socket, slip it onto the nut and of it comes... i brought a set for around £30.00 to do my bushes with , someone rounded them off , this set whipped them of in minutes

This dont make sense - if you have lost the wheel nut - then you dont need to remove it, and you can remove the others with the key. If you have lost the key then you can get another from a stealer with, as stated above, the code from one of the wheel nuts. usually a single letter.
 
yeh sorry thats what i have lost the key, not the nut.
il have a look to see if i can see a letter on one of the nuts. thanks
 
Where about on the key would the letter be stamped as i have the same problem of no key, but i also dont know if these are factory or aftermarket
 
Go to the dealers they generally have a master set for those times when a car.comes in for service and has no key in the car they will then.b able to tell u the correct key for the nuts and.u either order a new key if possible or a new set this is what happens at my work place hole it helps

If I were an urban scumbag (which I'm certainly not) I'd find that info. of great interest. But then & again my neighbour's wheel-nuts are probably safe as I'd have already spent the 30 quid on drugs/fags.
 
Out of interest, how many people know someone who has actually had their wheels stolen in this day and age when almost every car I see has alloys as standard?

I've always taken any locking wheel nuts off my cars and replaced with standard wheel nuts. The ability to remove my wheel with standard tools in an emergency is well worth the trade off in minimally less security as far as I'm concerned. Surely the kind of person who steals wheels from stationary cars is likely to be the same kind of person who has the correct tool for removing a variety of locking wheel nuts?

plus i think on a RR, you would need some time and hefty equipment to lift and lower it. but everything is possible. we have a guy by us that is known for stealing hub caps. he then stands at the end of the road and sells them LOL.
