Flat belt is a 300tdi

You'll need a decent sized van and trailer I reckon for getting that back homeGonna start and have to make a few plans now, just hope I have not bitten off more then I can chew, I know I wont be stuck for help and advice on here,
First plan while I'm sorting collection out is getting place ready, I have 2 stables that will nock into one building, 16 foot by 12. hope this is big enough for 110 with plenty room to work round it.
Thanks Maemaduke hope its running
They're simple enough engines and take a fair bit to knackerThanks Maemaduke hope its running
Is the 200 not flat on the back?
It’s almost better buying a project in pieces like your new acquisition, rather than a fully assembled rot-box. Much easier for you to assess the situation and make a plan.Gonna start and have to make a few plans now, just hope I have not bitten off more then I can chew, I know I wont be stuck for help and advice on here,

It is but it's also about half the width and a V belt as opposed to a serpentine oneIs the 200 not flat on the back?
You've got eyes like a hawk, Marmaduke Yes, that belt is the same width as mine.It is but it's also about half the width and a V belt as opposed to a serpentine one
I've just taken my fair share of 300's to bitsYou've got eyes like a hawk, Marmaduke Yes, that belt is the same width as mine.
+1 it's surprising how fast the missing bits mount up in priceBuy a full vehicle , it will save you money in the long run.
Tried that once and did nothing but spend money on it.Buy a full vehicle , it will save you money in the long run.
Thanks Mate will have loads of questions soon.just thought i would chip in here i had a 200 tdi many moons ago and it was indestructible i abused the sh_t out of it never let me down only thing i had issue with was a starter motor paint to get at with lt77 gearbox but that was only bother i had in 4 years, got a 300 tdi now and a td5 no problems with either but the one i am building has a 300 as everyone seems to state they are the best so i opted for that even though i have a spare td5 but would rather have zero electronics as they always go wrong.ref galv chassis is yours not in good nick as leads galvanising did mine they are spot on.if you get stuck with anything gis a shout i am a nut and bolt builder bare chassis up so not much i havnt came across thousands of hours of pain and suffering why do we do it lol

This ones going to be what I call Pay as you Go, Fix bits when I can afford to, gonna be a long one but its something ive always wanted to do.
Well I was on a High but started to think now, Thanks MateBut there has to be bits there to fix in the first place, I suppose if you buy a basket case you will be replacing most things but I would much rather be looking at a chassis swap and a lick of paint than buying the bits, new heater box is five hundred quid, new td5 bulkhead is 3 k, lower dash is hundreds, the little bits really do mount up.
Good job there’s a thriving 2nd hand market to keep these old girls on the road then. And I wouldn’t waste any money on a new td5 bulkhead for an ‘87 with a 300tdi.But there has to be bits there to fix in the first place, I suppose if you buy a basket case you will be replacing most things but I would much rather be looking at a chassis swap and a lick of paint than buying the bits, new heater box is five hundred quid, new td5 bulkhead is 3 k, lower dash is hundreds, the little bits really do mount up.
