Yeah ... everyone complains i loved it i was as happy as larry :D .. just love land rovers its part of the fun the noise haha

15-20mpg, slow, cold, uncomfortable, can't see where ya going in winter cos screens misted up, when it rains you're drier on the outside. Just making sure you're up for it.

I love em by the way. :D

I've always found for any vehicle that isn't mainstream the comparison sites are crap. Great for normal (boring) stuff but always done much better phoning round the specialists for the interesting stuff.
I would buy a landy mag and go through all the ads as a start. Also have a mess around with mileage limits, excess etc they can make a big difference.
Parents as named drivers is also a good shout but for me adding my dad raised the cost but my mum brought it down so have a play with that too. I'm 34 and my mums still on my policy she's been insured on some interesting stuff over the years! (Never let her drive em though).
Good luck with it hope you get a decent price it's good to have young people interested in the good stuff!

Wicked .. yeah i have a copy of landrover owner international and yeah thats the next port of call, then its call in favours of people you know who are in insurance lol ... although it doesnt always work.

Dunno what it is about landrovers just like an odd thing im obsessed with, i read all about it though read both haynes manuals, magazines, the list goes on .. like i spotted a nice one on flebay atm but then i spotted the air vents are missing so i know the bulkhead might have been messed with!

Yeah gimme a few lol like another decade :p

Romeo

Try Peter James insurance, specializes in classics like lancaster and flux.

You will bring your policy right down if you dont commute in it, plus you get a discount if your affiliated to a club registered with them.

2No Series 2's on the drive, limited mileage, no commuting £77 quid :)

Got more than a few years on you though

I wouldn't worry to much about mods, when I got insured with Adrian Flux they told me they preferred people with mods as they usually drove better and looked after their vehicles more. Definitely get your folks as named drivers and phone them instead of comparison sites. I don't know what discount Landyzone members get but Glass members get 15% off with Adrian Flux

thanks Marmaduke ... like your photo by the way. Hopefully insurance wont be 4k :p ... thanks Thor as well

You know what your getting yourself into then!
Few people are recommending Flux I use them myself for the landy and they do include green lane/off road cover. Not sure how genuine the 15% discount is cos I've seen the same offer on pistonheads and other places and the numbers are all the same haha but when I have had better quotes elsewhere and go back to them they ALWAYS have dropped the price and beaten the quote. First quote isn't always their best quote!
