Cheers bud, Yes I had seen them on ebay, ended up buying my 3/8 gun from folkestone fixings in the end.
But will be looking at it all again when the time comes to buy an 1/2" one.

Well I'm hoping to get another compressor at the end of the month. A mate of mine owes me one and he's looking at a 3hp 13cfm one with a 150l tank so that means I can spend more right now.
On that basis I'm probably looking at the 450nM Lion one from Clarke at about £150 or the 220nM one with 2 batteries for £107.

What about a cordless, so much easier than an air version, I got a Makita 18V - thing is amazing, did wheel bearing on a Ford a few weeks back and it just whipped the main hub nut right off! Its up at about 290NM when put on new... plus the grime and rust over the years and woomph it was off.
It will also do a full brake discs and pad change, including taking off the wheels on one charge and STILL had enough to rotate the wheels on my brothers car. I only charge it when it needs it, think I am on my second or third charge since January and that includes rotating tyres on 2 cars, all new discs and pads on a car, new axle on my landy, strut change on friends car, 2 wheels off my car for new tyres, steering TRE change on a car and various other things that I didn't need to take off but did to see if it would!

Well I bought the 450nM 24V Clarke cordless one because my mate who owes me a compressor is sorting it out now so I don't have to find the money for that. Having an impact wrench that is cordless is a great help and I don't need an air one now.

what are the thoughts on these? the 24V Li Ion 2 battery jobbies you get on Ebay?

I think only time would tell. Some of the stuff on eBay is just plain rubbish whilst other stuff is ok. The Clarke stuff is usually pretty good and having charged it up and changed a couple of wheel nuts it seems like it was worth it. I've made the right decision re battery impact gun as its one thing you just need for a couple of nuts and dragging the air line out is a hassle. If I had somewhere permanently set up it might be different but the battery one will always be most convenient.

Well just done the front pinion oil seal, changed the diff oil and replaced 8 wheel bolts that didn't have the shiny caps on (I realised my scrap disco 1 had some so swapped them round!).
Anyway the two 1/2 inch oil plugs wouldn't have shifted without the impact gun and the pinion nut would NEVER have shifted. All in all a nice simple easy job that all went to plan .......... Help whats going on!!!!!!!
Just got it on charge again after using it. I actually have a Clarke air impact wrench already but no compressor till my mate replaces it so this will be used for jobs like this rather than pulling a compressed air pipe all the way from my workshop to the road outside.
I've always been impressed with Clarke's stuff and this is no exception. I did however find one thing that they do that is RUBBISH..... Their 1/2inch torque wrench for £24 ish. The graduations are far too far apart and the graduations on the twist don't match the number of 'gaps' between the marks. So their are about 3-4mm between 84Nm and 112Nm and 15 marks on the twist thing between the handle lining up at 84 and at 112. Not only that but the marks are in 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s so you have to really mess about to set it. I'm going to take it back and pay the extra for the £70 electronic one.
