The center exhaust box on my P38 V8 had seen better days so today i removed it and welded in a piece of straight pipe (60mm OD) It took a bit of trial and error as the pipes in to and out of the box arnt inline, so you need to set the new pipe at a slight angle. Best part is the noise!! It now sounds like a proper V8!!

Yeah will do one as soon as i can get the bloody screw out of the heater matrix to change the o rings as that was my next job today!! Seized solid!!

I used a cherry bomb and a couple of turbo mufflers on my classic to similar effect. A bit of straight pipe really is king when it comes to value for money! :)

i did something similer with the cats sounded amazing under full throttle especially with the twin back box! had the take it off for the test though and never got round to putting it back on
it makes me chuckle when you get these boy racers (like the dick nextdoor) with a 1.4 engine and a drain pipe hanging out the back that sounds nowt like a propper v8

Sweet.bet that sounds good. Was thinking cherry bomb but mine is offset box. Is their enough play to do it. how loud is it? taking it to yorhshire in may and dont want do it if it going get on my tits for the journey

Yeah mine was off set a bit, so just welded the new bit in at a slight angle. It's noisy when first started but not to bad at 65/70 mph just a nice burble. Sounds good in tunnels!
