Driven across Russia, Mongolia, Kazakstan, and Europe... amazing adventure and highly recommended.
now... shall i bring the car into the UK?
it's currently in the netherlands, resting, and it's legality of being driven in europe runs out in May. I either sell it (Sensible - but will break my heart), or import it into the UK.
Tax isn't an issue as I've owned the car abroad for a number of years so I won't have to pay. MOT could be an issue, but then that's just the way it always is.
The big question is insurance. I've spoken to some companies about insuring the car and the numbers that are coming back are TERRIFYING! As it's a 1985, left hand drive, new engine, modified body, updated suspension & breaks, as well as a load of other things. the prices are well over £5000!!!
Does anyone know of a good company to call on this front? It's a bit of an unusual car.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. I'm writing up the trip (photos and all) and will post on the forum when done.
