locked out no dash display

Hi,
Key fob is not responding on 2000 p38, I opened door with key in lock and put key in ignition, but got nothing car is dead no dash display. Replaced fob batteries, got red signal on fob when pressed, have tried emergency code but still nothing. Anyone got any ideas?

Is the car battery flat? Sounds like it. Hopefully something left on rather than the dreaded mystery drain. Connect a jump battery. (Remember negative to earth point rather than battery).

A couple of weeks ago the receiver for remote kept waking up and I had to have ECU (i think) code reset. Do you think this is likely again and how can I fix, although car would crank before but just not fire now i have nothing.

....and when you put a jump bat on, watch out for the central locking to activate and lock the keys inside. Then you would be stuck. Keep them in your pocket or anywhere else as long as it's not in the car while you are doing the underbonnet stuff. Or leave a door open. The alarm could go off too.

Marky, really does sound like the car battery is flat if your not getting any responce on the dash.
Failing that then its the BECM, and thats bad news. So lets hope its just the battery.
