hi, i own a freelander millenium special edition. i was under the impression that all freelanders had a lockable storage box in the boot floor but mine does not. instead it has a carpeted blank plate which is held in place by 8 torx screws. does anyone else who owns a millenium or any other model have the floor box missing or is mine an oddity or was the lockable storage box an optonal extra?.
cheers. gary.

I have an '02 Freelander HSE, though i have the storage box, i do not have a lockable one.

Anyone know of a decent locking device or if the same can be purchased that normally comes in the freelander?

I have a lockable one on my Xedi and I can use it :) Think your best bet would be to go to a locksmiths......they should be able to recommend a lock for yours. Sorry don't know about the millenium FL's.

They all should have them. Even the commercials have them with reinforced board on top.

I have a spare one kicking about somewhere, its yours if you wanna cover postage costs. The locks are operational by door/ignition key.

remove the torx screws and have a look at whats underneath. Did you have it from new. I reckon someone has modified it, some peeps cut holes and place sub woofers in them

when i get the chance i'll take the screws out and have a look underneath.it looks original though as it is very good fit and is carpeted the same as the rest of the boot.

If you have harmon kardon ICE then your storage box will be a subwoofer housing although they're not normally held in by 8 torx bolts though.

storage box is useless anyway as they normally fill with water!!!

My storage box has no lock, no subwoofer, only the jack. There is a plastic piece screwed on to fit into the remaining area of th storage box minus the area for the jack.

so in other words, its not much of a storage box, butmore a place ffor the jack and plastic to take up the rest of the area.

i wonder if i unscrew the plastic if its carpetedor not..

i'll repost in a few when i find out. haha.
