Lincoln MP and his thoughts on Green Laning

Lol, there are none in his own constituency. All we have left in Lincolnshire is a couple of unclassified roads which are so overgrown you cant walk down them..

I try not to read anything that these ignorants come out with. It just gets the blood boiling. Chauffeur driven twerps. 6' of space in the millions of acres... thats all we're asking for.

I do a lot of contract work for the councils on bridleways/byways/footpaths and horses do just as much damage as vehicles. It might not look it from a distance, but try walking on a bridleway that has 100's of hoof-prints. Ankle twisters! at least with ruts you can walk along the top of them :)... or bottom..

We did more grading of bridleways damaged by horses last year than we did rut filling of byways. A substantial amount more.

I only read it as the GREEN LANE ASSOCIATION sent it to me, would love to correct the idiot though

I'd like to have a lot of one to ones with a lot of these people. It would be nice to sit them down and tell them everything they're wrong about... perhaps something i'll try and do when I get my £64million tonight

Is there any lincolnshire laners that don't mind a few scratches who could open these up a little?

Regards the MP; read the article earlier and he is clearly very angry and trying to get one over on his rival.

Ermine street, RAF Waddington to ~Nettleham is overgrown. Someone is cutting the grass though :S. I assume the council as it would have to be done with a compact tractor. (what I use for cutting public rights of way). You can get through with a vehicle.. but be ready for some serious nails down chalk board and some scratches that t-cut wont look at. To be honest, if it isn't done before winter, I'll take the flail down and do it myself.

nice offer there, top stuff.

Handy to have access to that kind of kit. :)

tweeted and both MPs and also at the retford times. Articles like this are so damaging, largely because people are idiots and will take everything they read as gospel.

Clearing ROW is what I do for a living.. just not in the county I live in :(

Responsible for about 1000 miles of ROW in various counties. Everything from grass cutting to surface repairs. Can be some seriously good fun and we find some amazing lanes, especially as I am allowed to drive where others aren't :D

If you get a chance to check the lanes around Licolnshire and feel they're driveable, I'd be up for coming along (I may need the names of some nice b&b's though).

We do a few lanes around Retford, Market Rasen, Gainsborough etc etc. All those we do are signed and marked as Byways and are available on Def. maps .. :)

Admittedly, a few are very rarely driven except by tractors, are never repaired so are nowadays mostly quite deep mud runs ... they're pretty damn good at getting folk stuck .. ;)

The more 'interesting' pics were removed from the thread, but the videos show what a couple of the lanes are like! And just about all are in Lincolnshire .. it's a big place .. ;)
