Morning all.

asked elsewhere and getting divided opinions. Is this lifted or not.

300tdi 90 CSW
Current springs look black under the rust
Tyres are 265/75/16
Distance from centre hub to bottom of the metal wheel arch cut out
Is 25” front and back

Why do you want to know?
But basically it will be difficult to know. Those aren't stock wheel arch spats, so any datum point using them will be utterly useless as a comparison metric.

BTW - unless you are towing or hauling, you may find 35psi at the rear a little hard.

Hi

I want to replace shocks and springs and want to retain the same look - hence why I am trying to find out. I didn't use the plastic spats I measured to the underneath of the top of the metal arch cut in bodywork as that is stock.

Interesting re tyre pressures as I think I got them of reading a few posts on here. What would you recommend front and rear

thanks - always learning on this vehicle :0)

Your Landy looks like it’s got a lift kit fitted. I’ve got 235/85R16 tyres with standard springs and wheel arches and there is nowhere near as much space as yours. Unfortunately, I can’t read the sizing of your tyre as it’s too pixelated on my iPad if I zoom in.

ha ha and there in is the challenge I always get mixed views. Mine are 265/75/16s

Looks as though it has been lifted compared to my defender TD5 90 with 235/8516 wheels, your chassis is much higher than the top of the tyre the top of my tyre is half way up the chassis height, even allowing for my tyre extra height profile it looks a lot higher.

30 PSI all round is fine for normal use, known as comfort pressures.

If you want to carry massive weights, or tow heavy trailers at speed, put the rears up to about 38 PSI.

true but I like those things - and the dukes of hazard horn
Needs Daisy Dukes Arse hanging out of the window as well…..

For reference, my Scabby Dog sits on stock Springs/Dampers, with 235/85/16 Conti’s at 32psi all round- and measures 21” ground to underside of front bumper, 22.5” ground to underside of rear cross member.

I am not showing my Daisy Duke picture for no one :0)

So if my maths is correct 235 x 0.85 is 199.75 and 265 x0.75 is 198.75. therefore at the bumper mine should sit 1cm c. 0.5 inch higher than yours just from tyres alone. So if mine is standard I should get c. 21' front and 23' rear

Have I worked that out correctly?

Near as makes no odds - that is indeed where you should be at stock, unloaded, level ground , at sea level etc etc.

Our rather non scabbie 90
Measures 23inches from underside of front bumper.
I know there are 40-50mm spacers under the springs.
Running 235/85/16.
Run a tape from the bottom of the front turret to axle plate and it comes in at +/- 13 1/2 " 34cm thats the front
Just hold the tape on the ledge above the top of the spring.

Got any pics of the spring mounts at the bottom?
