hi , im looking at lifting my 90 , 1st of all I have the rear axle with discs and the rubber doughnut on the rear prop , whats the limit I can go so that im not replacing the doughnut every 2 mins?
also whats your preference make of kit? was thinking pro comp or terifermer any good?
and on the 90 is heavy duty to harsh with there not been much weight on the back? thanks ryan

Have a look for a 4 bolt flange kit on ebay to do away with the donut, theres a thread ben done not to long ago where I posted an ebay link but am on my phone so cant do it at the moment.
Suspension wise theres hundreds of threads to trawl through to see what people think. I spent a few days reading up and decided to go with bearmach hd springs and terrafirma shocks in the end.
Why do you want a lift though? Have you looked into the pro's and cons properly?

thanks for the reply's , im wanting more ground clearance as I do a fair bit of off off roading. il have a read though some threads thanks people

We've done a few lifts, generally 2 inch, all the 300 tdi's Ive done have been discos and we changed the rear prop to ones from a 200 tdi as they have no doughnut. Not sure if its the same on a defender 90.?

Have used britpart spings with pro comp shocks, bearmach with pro comp, terriferma, it's all down to budget and preference really.

We also generally do away with anti roll bars to improve articulation, usually with heavy duty springs though.

Lift kits won't improve the ground clearance of your diffs, the only way to increase that is to put bigger tyres on. :D

And of course the other thing to consider is weather you use standard length shocks, putting +2s on will mean dislocation cones and maybe braided extended break lines.

ive just ha a ead through the lifting guide , I know it will put stress on other parts too , whats the biggest tyre you can go on standard suspention? 16" wheels

haha sorry was a really dull moment! I meant it as in how much clearance would I gain by fitting bigger tyres
