Hi everyone,

I have replaced my Series 2 engine, because over here in Australia they removed the Landy engines and put in a Holden 202 for a bit more power.

I am now back to a 2.25l petrol and one thing I have noticed is that when they did the conversion to the Holden, they removed all of the accelerator linkage across the firewall and to where the Carb is. With the holden, they just had a crude cable and that was it.

I have had an international effort to find all of the pieces and they are slowly arriving by post, however I cannot find anywhere that has the push/control rod that goes from the accelerator shaft and up to the cross shaft (Landy Part Number 509556 - #30 on the parts page).

If anyone has a spare few minutes, could someone please measure the length of the rod and I will have to make one up. I have found the ball joint socket ends, so I just need to know how long the rod is. A photo would be great too if possible.

Many thanks

Nor sure how much help here but the rod on my late model 2a is a cheaper job, just a rod with a 90 degree bend each end held in place by spring clips, not the nice ball sockets of previous models. However rod length not including bent over ends is 8 inches.

Thank you so much for that. I owe you a virtual beer. In theory everything should arrive in the post this week, so I will start putting things together and then make up the 8 inch rod.

Big thank you.
