LED stop/tail lights

I bought the full wipac set off ebay a while ago. Had a mild panic attack when they came in a britpart box, but they came with an adjustable flasher unit included and look almost standard unlit, but a massive improvement when lit. Well recommended

Yes, a number of manufacturers now are doing a flasher control unit that's suitable for LEDs. The problem with the old relays was that the current draw was so small that the relay thought there was an open circuit and wouldn't work at all or flashed really quickly. With a lot of the LED kits you get one of the new flasher units included. In the old days people used to fit resistors to fool the flasher relay into thinking there were standard filament bulbs attached but you don't need to do that now.

+1 for the LED stop tail - same size as the old units, but appear to be really well made, and weather proof. Much brighter. I have also put LED bulbs in my front side and indicators - brighter, but with the "standard" water ingress they may not last long. They will be replaced with the LED units next year.

I'm going LED mad and putting LED bulbs in the house as well. They seem quite a bit brighter than the previous generation of fluorescent energy saving bulbs and really show up the cobwebs.

You don't realise how much better they are until you fit them.
I've done a few extensions with a mate and always fit a couple of different ones to show them the difference, and most people have gone with the LED bulbs.

+1 for this too. Massive energy saving over my old 100w downlight bulbs and brighter. I can also recommend the LED security lights and solar powered path flood lights. Good service from LEDhut too. Looking forward to a smaller leccy bill.
I've recently noticed some nearby dual carrigeway lights have gone back to bright white (from the old orange sodium), presume they are led. Massive improvement on how well the road is lit.

I don't like the way LED brake lights come on instantly I wish they'd use some circuitry to slow them down a few fractions of a second so they act like normal bulb filaments..

Mudstuff.co.uk also do them. They are the Wipac versions and externally no different.
They do look a little bling due to the reflectors for the LED's but i am running the clear indicators which accentuates this more. I also highly recommend them, It is the one mod that is worth it.
Standard filament holders are a pain in the arse. I mean how many defenders do you see with all their park lights, indicators and brake lights working. There is normally at least one bulb out.
Only minor complaint over the Wipac lights would be the screws they come with are about an inch longer than they need to be. You need to drill new holes for the light unit and almost need to tap a thread into the steel capping otherwise the screws will strip or snap

I changed to the LED stop /tail lights from bolt on bits a few weeks ago after ages of messing around with lamps not fitting in the housings properly, water getting in and corroding the fittings... The LED's are so much better, sealed units and much brighter!! next for me will be front side lights and eventually driving lights! Driving lights are a bit expensive still though....

Does anyone have the new LED drive lights on here???

I don't have the LED set, but I have recently purchased a new set of the crystal headlights, 10x brighter and they'd not even. Wypec they only cost £30 plus the price of two new H4 bulbs.

they arrived in argos today, new weird set up on ebay where you have stuff taken to your nearest store, just got in and took all of 5 mins to fit they are the same size as normal lights and just plug in no relays needed will take a pic in the dark tonight
