The lights on my roof bar are getting a bit dated and now the headlights, sidelights and pretty much everything else is LED they stand out. I was looking to replace with LED similar size etc but there doesn't seem to be much of a selection around, a lot of small units. These new curved LED light bars seem popular but I don't like them. My current ones are about 6"x3" which I think looks ok - any recommendations on what or where to get ? I thought these would be an easy replacement!

I agree, the curved lights make sense as most cars are actually curved but Defenders arent so they look odd.

You could either go for a single bar or a smaller lights such as these** which should bolt directly into your current bar.

**Used that company many times before and they have been fantastic.

Thanks bankz, I actually saw these this morning on ebay and thought they looked ok but was put off when I saw they were from China. If you know they're good I might give them a go! Nothing against Chinese people except the sh*t they tend to sell on ebay! Cheers.

If you scroll through what he (v-lite) has for sale theres usually an option of flood, spot or both. Personally have a 52" bar with the end row 10 LEDs being flood and the center spots, so you could buy x2 flood and x2 spot and arranged them how ever you like.

Had it fitted for a year with zero issues, also got 3 7" rear lights fitted which have been on for over 2 years with no issues.

Best part is one of the rear lights failed after 6 months, sent a message, brand new one shipped free of charge! Didnt even have to send the old one back!

To be honest I gave those round 9 led 38w? Ones a go from eBay/china and didn't hold out much hope but I was pleasantly surprised....lights the country lanes up like daylight! I have them mounted in pairs on top left and right of my roof rack....total cost about £25 for all 4....not as good as 'top of the range' I guess but does the job..uses very little energy and if they break/smash/fall off they are cheap to replace ...see some of my project posts and you will see them.

Floods on the outsides to light edges, spots in the centre to light ahead. This where although looking ridiculous on a defender, the slightly curved bars can actually make sense in lighting a wider area better.

I haven't gotten as far as front lighting yet, but the mere 7w work light is as bright as the 55w halogen it replaced.
