Disco 2 LED light bars

As others have said it depends what you want them for. I plan to use mine "off road", mainly for camping etc, so i want it to be able to run independently of the headlights (and ignition)... more of a work light than a driving light.

I am assuming you mean 400W equivalent... 400W of LEDS is a hell of a lot of power (most LED light bars are more like 20-30W)

I am sinking zatt perhaps zee mathematical s are not so correct. 4 x 5W LEDs ist 20 vatts. Vich ist less zan 2A.

Ein smallish / medium lightenbar ist normally being around 120W. 10A

Needs checking but bars with 50x8W are available for those that need to burn holes through cardboard at 100 paces.

right ive got the bar but no info with it

LED Power: 400W
Operating Voltage: 10-30 DC
Waterproof rate: IP 67
100pcs*4w high intensity LEDS

this is what it says on ebay

im going to put it on tomorrow and just use the fog light wires.

Please don't.

It's quite clear, 100x4w bulbs is 400w and NOT safe to run through a circuit designed to take +/- 50w

A 150w flood light...

Often LEDs are quoted to provide a light output equivalent to so many hundreds of watts of ordinary filament lighting.
The only way of finding out definitively what you're dealing with is to set up a bench test system and actually measure the current drawn by the lightbar.
Only then will you know if you can safely use the existing wiring in the vehicle or you're going to have to run some 35 square mil cables with a stonkin' great contactor.

Always best to run your own separate wiring regardless of power draw that way if you have a failure the rest of the freelander is not compromised.

When I do mine (eventually:oops:) I'll use the fog light switch as the trigger for a relay that I wire in separately with appropriate gauge wire. I certainly wouldn't advise directly wiring a lightbar without using a relay.

this aint a hippo ;)

400w led is approx equivalent of 1000w halogen in light output
output is no relation to current draw'n :)
