Hi, Ive got the usual pitted swivel seals, and I just painstakingly rebuilt the front swivel with araldite in the pits and lucas stopleak swivel oil and new seals etc along with a new cv and swivel bearings, only to have it leak free about a week and all the oil leaked out already through I suspect the most damaged bit of the swivel at the lowest point...
Now, Ive got two sachets of bearmach swivel grease having read round that grease is a good fix for leaking swivels, but the landy shop that sold it me says it wont be any less prone to leaking out than the oil I had in before, and it certainly seems just as viscous squishing it round the packet and the grease is used as its less prone to getting water contaminated?? Im now wondering if the low viscosity is down to it being an aftermarket product.
So if I bought some of the proper range rover grease that came out later as a fix thicker in consistancy and thus more likely to stay in with the damaged swivel ball surface? or am I resigned to spending another weekend rebuilding it to replace the swivel and do the job properly?

I didnt replace the swivel because I thought they were about 90 quid apiece, now I found out theyre that a pair with a teflon coating to boot.. Damn hindsight! I just dont have another weekend to spend replacing the damn swivel...
