Leaky sunroof seals

Hi all

I have a 2007 Tdci 90 with what I assume is the factory fitted sunroof with the twist handle. The previous owner has gaffer taped it shut, presumably because it leaks.

I'm taking the car to get its roof painted in a couple of weeks, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to ask them to replace the sunroof seals with a new one while they're at it.

The thing is I don't know which seal is leaking, looks like there's a couple of them.

I'm looking on the LR parts website for seals and looks like there are two replacement kits available:

They look the same to me...can anyone help/advise?

Thanks!

Does the first seal go between the sunroof frame and the roof and the second one between the frame and the glass

Hi all.

My soggy sunroof woes continue.

The hinges were knackered and not even screwed in properly, so I’ve replaced those. Easy enough job.

I’ve also replaced the seal. I’m finding though that while I think it’s seated properly, the sunroof glass wants to ‘tuck’ in at the front, but sit on top at back. This doesn’t look right to me.

See photos attached. Am I doing something obviously wrong here?

Thanks folks.

Agree, doesn't look right to me either.
Sunroofs are the devil's spawn, you can get a bonded in replacement but they look a bit crap.
Looks like the front edge of the glass is too low, any adjustment?

I fought mine for years...problem is that the roof is flat and the sunroof subtly curved...give up...put top-side rubber washers on the screws tgat go through the glass, and then RTV the seal....i fear you will just waste money by replacing the seal. Maybe if you find a piece of flat glass for the sun roof...

Yeah I can see it’s a poor design, I can only assume the curved glass originally came from some old Leyland car and they just stuck with it into the Ford era.

I’m reluctant to give up just yet.

Can anyone with a twisty handle sunroof do me a favour and take a few close up photos of the seal? Mine doesn’t look right but I can’t for the life of me see what I’m doing wrong and there’s zero information available online or in the Haynes, or Land Rover workshop manuals.
