Freelander 1 Leaky g'box oil seal

I replaced the left hand drive shaft oil seal at the start of the year. I seems to be leaking again. I don't think I made any mistakes and after getting that drive shaft out renewing that seal is quite easy.

I used a LR seal too. Could I have missed something?

is the oil seal from the gearbox ?

Yes I'm pretty sure it is. It's clean / clear and the metal cup for the inner cvj is covered with oil as is the underside of the motor.

Had the old seal worn a groove in the driveshaft, and did you lightly clean the driveshaft to remove crud and glaze

No I didn't see any groove and yes I did clean the shaft up as I replaced both CV boots at the same time.

in the oil seal is a little soft spring, you seek to replace him with one more tightly .....
