Hi all, I just joined today. I just wanted to say Ive gathered a bit of experience with leaking Discos headliners and thought I'd try and sell you guys a couple of bits of pipe for £200. Alternatively I could go and spam somewhere else if you'd like.

Who wants to give their money to dealers when we can give it to an honest caring bloke like you instead??

Cock.
cheers for the instant abuse. Could you explain what Ive said to offend you? I merely offered to stop people being forced in spending stupid money on something unecessary. I would obviously ask for a contribution towards materials and time but nowhere near what a dealer is asking... Is that wrong? I certainly wasnt trying to offend anyone. What would you suggest to someone struggling with this problem that didnt have a bit of know how with tools and who didnt want to stump up £550?

cheers for the instant abuse. You're welcome Could you explain what Ive said to offend you? Post #1 I merely offered to stop people being forced in spending stupid money on something unecessary. by offering to sell them something else unnecessary I would obviously ask for a contribution towards materials and time but nowhere near what a dealer is asking... Is that wrong? YesI certainly wasnt trying to offend anyone. What would you suggest to someone struggling with this problem that didnt have a bit of know how with tools and who didnt want to stump up £550? Well its already gone up from £350.. They could always buy a hat..

If you want to start a business, fine...but this is a forum where people share ideas and help each other...so either invest in your idea or tell us all how to do it so we can do it ourselves...

they don't like spammers trying to flog their wears around here. If you'd offered free advice cool but trying to charge for services is not what this forum is about.

Gotcha mate, thanks for putting me straight in an educated manor. Im not a business, I really thought there may be people that were totally lost that arent handy with tools that could use a hand. The tray is £350 + £200 labour = £550.. I would obviously chat to folk on here for nothing about what repair i did etc.. I only wanted to get the message out to less handy folk that there are cheaper solutions. I see i offended a few computer types and Im sorry you all got a bit waspy with me. Lets all breathe deeply. Bollocking accepted!

I just stumbled on this as a newbie and I don't want to appear like a damsel in distress but I could use my leaky sunroof looking at. I had learned to live with sitting on plastic bags and getting dripped on occasionally but now the rear one must be leaky as well cos my kids got dripped on this morning.
Is this a job Stevros or any other could do whilst the disco was at my work place? I would be happy to contribute towards materials and time or travel expense within my tight budget.

You dont say where you live, if your close i'll do it for free - if you take the dog for a walk

Drop me a private line and we'll certainly chat... if yr anything like me.. u cant wait to get yr ceiling dry so u can sell on the hunk o junk asap!!! Crapest 4x4 ever! oh no i may have re activated the bad language typers!! Those tuff guys can really type! Im close to swindon by the way.. cheers.

Sorry but I will be unable to contact you via pm cos I don't understand what NO SPAMMING means so Ratty has banned me.

At last a reply! It would be easy to agree after the wet weather this week but I have no choice but to keep the car, besides I had a Mercedes ML before and that was... in the same league. The rear suspension collapsed on both and there's no off-roading required on the school run! Now I have an ACE warning light that comes on intermittently la la la turn the stereo up!

How about soliciting goods or services without the site owners permission. AKA spamming.:mad::mad::mad:

I merely offered to stop people being forced in spending stupid money on something unecessary.

Ooooooh. are ya doing it for free cos that's mighty kind of you:)?

I would obviously ask for a contribution towards materials and time but nowhere near what a dealer is asking

Aaaah. Maybe it aint free afterall. Definately spam then.:mad::mad::mad:

... Is that wrong?

YES!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

I certainly wasnt trying to offend anyone.

Well ya feckin well did.:mad::mad::mad:

What would you suggest to someone struggling with this problem that didnt have a bit of know how with tools and who didnt want to stump up £550?

Nope. I'd tell em to read this.......

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f38/discovery-how-repair-leaking-sunroof-guide-99543.html

and either fix it themselves or show it to someone who could do it for em.:)

The idea of forums is that we help each other for FREE. If you want to make money off the backs of this forum and its members I would suggest exiting now.:mad::mad::mad:

Whoa kay! Soliciting services = bad hope I'm not in the dog house for kerb crawling for services and being prepared to financially contribute.:confused:

So here goes a shameless bit of kerb crawling: Disco 2 Sunroof x2 leaking. Needs fixing. swindon area. No financial reward implied, no pet minding, no lounge lizards. Form an orderly queue! ...........tweet .....tweet..tweet! :rolleyes:
