Hi all.
I wonder if anyone has experienced the same?
My Td4 freelander has a fuel leak from around where the injectors are. I've checked all the spill off pipes and it doesn't seem to noticeably be coming from them.
It runs perfectly, no misses or anything so thought it must have been on he low pressure return side. You can't see a leak when it's running but if you take a trip somewhere then check when you get back there is a pool under the cover where the injectors are, which was then running down (when you turn right) and burning off on the exhaust causing diesel fumes inside the cabin through the vents. For now I have put some absorbent padding in where it pools so I can just change it out rather than have it running down. It's not a major leak and the mpg is still pretty good. It's just annoying and it shouldn't be doing it.
I have checked all the injectors are tight in the assumption that the copper washer beneath the injector should prevent any leak through that way, but understand they have a rubber o ring on as well.
Are these rubber seals prone to leakage if it's passing the copper washer beneath? Is there any way that the injector itself could be leaking? But I would have thought I would see that as it would be under high pressure?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated before I start pulling injectors out etc.
