Me neither, cars overheat in traffic because there is something wrong with the cooling system not because of a blanket.

It goes over the top of the engine
I've never had any problems like that in mine, as Lynall and Flat have said
John you can get ones that wrap around the gearbox, bet thats nice to work on after a few years of sweaty gearbox oil leaks/weeping!

I fitted the Noise Killer front and under bonnet kit... made a big difference. As part of the purchase you have the future option of a discount on their lead blankets, but I haven't felt the need for one of them as well.
I have heard that the acoustic engine cover and underneath covers were to meet external noise emission constraints!? There's very little sound proofing on the rear of the engine... which would be where it would benefit the occupants?
Soundservice in Oxford have a seconds department which I raided for my van body... no bare metal now exposed, helped to make it a lot quieter.

Well bitten the bullet and have ordered the rear floor, wheel arches, side recess', side van panels and roof from NGK. Arriving today!
I went for this to start with as most of the 'tinny' noise seems to becoming from the rear, and when it rains all I can hear is it splashing onto the arches, hopefully will make a difference! Next one ill go for will be the NGK bellhousing blanket! Once again, cheers for the replies!

I know no one may be watching this, but just thought id update....
Fitting took a couple of hours, this included cleaning and thoroughly white spiriting every internal panel/surface in the rear tub, sides and roof. All sectiions were cut and fit PERFECTLY, the sticky backing is very good, a bit of a bitch to do the roof as it gets stuck where you don't want it as you attempt to get it down the inside of the gutter ( 2 hands would be much easier).
Driving is now an absolute pleasure, the rear is totally quiet, even driving in torrential rain you only get a slight swooshing noise as water hits the underside, only downside is it highlights the lack of soundproofing up front!!

I need to update here too.
I finally got around to buying a lead blanket from Noisekiller, and fitted it this weekend... went for a trundle and can definitely hear an improvement. I could hear the fan on its lowest setting, and even the swish of the tyres on the road with the window open... not a definitive test, but definitely better.

That's all very interesting, but what's super interesting to me is the two cables connected to the brake fluid reservoir lid. Can you tell me what colours they are please.

Mate I'm in the process of sound proofing mine using some camping roll matts! I've lined the driver and passenger boxes so far. It's easy to cut and cheap glues in nicely and as well as being a good insulator for heat it seems to be working to cut sound so far. I'm only using on the interior as it has zero fire retardant qualities!

Hi Bud! Sorry for super late response, but the time has come for me to do some more soundproofing, and i want the engine blanket. Can you please tell me what size you ordered? It looks very substantial, and goes down the back of the engine which must help with the clatterery noise very well? any info would be great !
